What the API does

Everything WhatsApp does, now from your code

Notifications, billing, confirmations, customer service, groups — the same number your team uses, driven by your ERP, CRM, SaaS or automation.

Send any type of message

Formatted text, images, PDF, audio, video, location, contacts, buttons and interactive lists. Media by URL or base64.

Example: an invoice PDF with the caption “Due on the 10th” and an “I’ve paid” button.

Receive in real time

Messages, media, reactions and delivery/read status arrive at your webhook. Prefer to query? There’s event polling.

Example: the customer replies “1” → your system opens the ticket and confirms instantly.

Groups and contacts

Create groups, add and remove participants, generate invite links, change name and description. Look up chats, profiles and metadata.

Example: a new class at school → group created and students added automatically.

Official API templates

Create, submit for approval and sync the status of Meta templates through the API itself — without opening Business Manager.

Example: an “order shipped” template approved and sent through the same endpoint.

Instances and numbers

Create and manage instances through the API, restart, update and connect via QR code. No limit on numbers per account.

Example: your SaaS provisions a new number for every customer who subscribes.

No code, if you prefer

Zapier, Make, n8n, Typebot and WooCommerce already talk to WhatsGW. Good for validating before you write code.

Example: order paid in WooCommerce → confirmation on WhatsApp, without a single line of code.

Official or QR code?

You don’t have to decide this today — and the choice is per number

Start with a QR code in minutes to validate the integration. When it makes sense, connect the official number through Meta’s popup — in minutes, in the same dashboard, with the same API. See the official API.

Flexible · QR code

To start right now

  • Connects like WhatsApp Web: scan the QR code and you’re live
  • No approval, no templates, no per-conversation fee
  • Unlimited messages for US$ 19 per number/month
  • Ideal for validating, for secondary numbers and for customer service
Official · Meta Cloud API

To scale with an official Meta number

  • Number on Meta’s Cloud API, with a lower risk of being blocked
  • Connects through Meta’s popup with the number already on WhatsApp Business — without removing it from the phone
  • Same endpoint, same webhook — only the number changes
  • Recommended for notifications at scale and main channels

FAQ

What developers ask before integrating

Do I need Meta’s official API to use it?

No. You connect a number via QR code in minutes and start integrating. The official connection (Meta Cloud API) is available per number, whenever you want: you connect it yourself through Meta’s popup, in minutes — see the official API.

What message types can I send?

Formatted text, images, PDF and other documents, audio, video, location, contacts, buttons, interactive lists and, on the official number, approved templates. Media can be sent by URL or base64.

How do I know whether a message was delivered and read?

Send with check_status and set up your webhook: statuses arrive at your endpoint with the message_custom_id you defined. You can also query via event polling.

POST or GET?

Both. GET is limited by URL length — for media and large messages, use POST with JSON or form-urlencoded.

Can I send in bulk?

Yes: /WhatsGw/SendBulk accepts up to 1,000 messages per call, mixing text, media and buttons. For campaigns from the dashboard, see bulk messaging.

Is there an SDK?

It isn’t required — it’s plain REST. The docs include ready-made examples in PHP, Node, Python, C# and Delphi, and the collection can be imported into Postman.

How much does it cost?

US$ 19 per number/month with unlimited messages, or per message in tiers from R$ 0,120 (≈ US$ 0.023) to R$ 0,023 (≈ US$ 0.0044) depending on volume. Prepaid, no lock-in, no setup fee. Over 25 numbers, special terms. Billed in Brazilian reais (R$ 99) via PayPal; your bank converts to your currency.

What if I also want human agents?

The same number can be used by your team in the team inbox and by the AI agent — API, human support and AI in one place.
